What is onboarding?
2/28/2016
Onboarding is the emerging term for orienting new employees to a workplace, as in  bringing a new employee onboard.  According to Roz Bahrami in IT BUSINESS, the first few weeks on the job set the stage for a new employee’s expectations, levels of engagement, and productivity.  That’s why onboarding processes are critical.  Examples of successful processes include:
> using smartphones as a medium for training (all Lesson-Up.net e-texts are optimized for learning on all digital devices)
> fostering communication on social media including Facebook and Twitter
> providing online and offline courses using 3-D for realism

The lesson plan on Climbing the Career Ladder helps new employees anticipate the onboarding process.  All lesson plans on Lesson-Up.net implicitly develop skills in using such digital onboarding processes and smooth the transition into the job.
