Can internal whistle blowers save an employer money?
11/25/2018
Yes – nearly 7% in pending lawsuits and over 20% in settlement costs, as reported in Evidence on the Use and Efficacy of Internal Whistleblowing Systems by K. Welch of George Washington University and S. Stubben of the University of Utah.  Data were collected over 10 years from 8,500 companies on topics of financial reporting, sexual harassment, workplace safety, and others.  Without a positive whistle blower culture, "cockroach situations” of serious problems fester in the dark, then come to light in more damaging situations, often fostering a backlash against management.

The Lesson-Up lesson on Whistle Blowing with credentialing is always available online.
