What are the 4 steps in effective negotiations?
10/28/2018
According to C. Van Daele of Van Daele and Associates (www.leant3.com), the four sequential steps are:
1.  Commit to personal integrity and a positive outcome.
2.  Exchange information and clarify issues by focusing on interests, not titles of work positions.
3.  Recognize and uncover any emotional issues to find options that can be agreed upon.
4.  Commit to a formal approval process for the agreed-upon option.  Follow up to assure the option is working as planned.

The forthcoming lesson on Persuading provides details and an opportunity for  credentialing.
