First, employment is rising faster in occupations requiring more preparation.  According to the Pew Research Center in their report on The State of American Jobs, between 1980 to 2015, the number of employed requiring more preparation for their jobs rose from 50 million to 83 million, while the those with lower preparation only rose from 49 million to 65 million.

Second, most workers (87%) see continuous training as "Essential” or "Important” for career success.
