What is your right to know?
12/3/2017
Right to Know is a provision under federal law 29 CFR 1910.1200 that declares that employees have a right to know about all existing or potential physical, chemical, and biological hazards in the workplace.  Furthermore, employees have a right to protect themselves from such hazards via:
> Safety training
> Safe work practices and procedures
> Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
> Learning from prior accidents in the particular workplace
> Suggesting engineering controls to reduce/eliminate hazards

This and further definition of Right to Know and 30 other Key Questions are answered in the new lesson on Hazard Communication.  The entire lesson is online, including the eText, ePlan, PowerPoint, eQuiz, and eSurvey.  This is one of the five lessons in the Cluster of Occupational Safety & Health.
