The purpose of the formative Practice eQuiz is to prepare students to take the summitive Comprehensive Performance Examination. Every Lesson-Up Practice eQuiz has test items in all six of the following Domains of Dr. Benjamin Bloom’s Cognitive Taxonomy. 1. Remembering – This simplest level usually asks what questions. Most run-of-the-mill tests only pose test items which call for recognition or recall of content. 2. Understanding – Usually asks why questions by using the word because in the stem. 3. Applying – Usually asks how/where/when questions, such as how/where/when is this used on the job? 4. Analyzing – Usually asks analogy questions, such as A is to B as C is to ___? Also asks compare-&-contrast questions, such as how are they the same yet different? 5. Evaluating – Usually asks how-much questions, such as How much is this worth? Which is worth more? Which is the safest SOP for this on-the-job task? 6. Synthesizing/Creating – The most-advanced level usually asks for a combination or bringing together of dispirit ideas or concepts. Key words may include write, estimate, predict, perform, enact, create, discover, devise, think, and invent.
